Time to start a new thread, as we begin Labor Day weekend.
Everyone has been sharing some beautiful bird photos!
Please continue to do so here!
We are coming from here... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1215853/
I went on vacation two weeks ago, and saw so many different birds!
I'll start with a Semipalmated Plover cruisin' the beach!
Daily Bird Pics - Vol. 413
'stilts' is right. congratulations.
Great start to the new thread VA Rose!! Congrats on the Black-necked Stilts! The Willet is actually a Short-billed Dowitcher. Nice shots!
Wonderful shots VA! Love the Stilts along with the others. Congrats on the new bird!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Great shots, Rose. You have a good variety. I really like the Snowy Egret. That bobwhite is a cock, though. The white on the throat and head tell you that. Would be brown there if a hen. Since I still haven't been out shooting any fresh pics, here's another of a Common Snipe I shot in the spring migration. We had a rare spring snowstorm the night before this was taken, so I got up early the next morning and hit the flat west of town to see what had fallen out. This pic has been worked on to give it a painterly look.
Beautiful feather coloring and pattern on the snipe! Very nice detail red!
I can already tell this is going to be a fabulous thread! Thanks Wild Rose for a great beginning. Such great detailed of the snipe, agreed Red.
Wild Rose....love all the shore birds and so nice to see the bobwhite!!
Nice one Red of the snipe!!
Duc...I would love to see your yard. You have such great photo ops with plant & flowers!
Lily_love - Thanks for the invite ! I'm here now. I just love the beautiful pictures of all the birds !
Welcome Coountrymom, have you more pics. of the Cardinals to share? I've a momma Redbellied Woodpecker that brought her new juvenile fledge to the feeder this early morning. He learnt fast! By noon he's learned how to retrieve the nuts, and even immitate Momma's by bringing the nut to her favorite spot to hammer on the food that 'he' just newly found.
Thanks for starting us off with your shore birds, all very lovely shots, Wild Rose. Congratulation on your new bird.
Great Snipe shot, Red
Duc,nice finches.
Countrymom, welcome, glad your sharing your sightings with us. Love the Cardinal feeding, on the previous thread.
Kim, nice to see the new WP
I have a lot of fledged Goldfinches, demanding to be fed.

I saw a blue backed, brown winged small bird while we were driving. I think it was probably a juvenile indigo bunting. Only thing that I could think of. Hope so!
Burn, I love those pics. especially the Goldfinch papa feeding his young. How nice to have them nest nearby. I love those M. Doves, I even put up a birdhouse for them this year. A bigger house, still no taker.
We have steady gentle rain, as a tail end of 'Lee' on La. Yesterday was pretty like today. The juvie WP sheltered itself from the rain and resume his adventure after the rain stopped.
Keep hoping for some rain here at my house. Some places in Indiana did get some Saturday evening into Sunday morning. It was 100 in Indianapolis on Saturday. High of 70 today!! Wind is blowing and really feels like fall.
Walked this morning and was not really finding or even hearing much at all. No Phoebes or Catbirds at all today.
This shot of an Eastern Phoebe is from last week.
Yup, I've missed my Eastern Phoebes down here for quite some time now. I don't get to see the Catbirds for they're so secretive.
Wow Duc, That is gorgeous. You live in a beautiful part of California!
Nice pics! I especially love the Vulture!
Great shots everyone!
Hi Countrymom. Welcome to the forum!
Wow, I can see why, you get a lot of hummingbirds, at your place! Quite a buffet for them. Nice place for water fowls as well. You must see a lot of butterflies as well.
Thanks Kim, actually it's a female Goldfinch feeding the young one. Our male still have their bright yellow and their black patch on the head.
This is not a great picture, it's been raining so bad here, doesn't help for pictures taking.
