Nice pictures everyone! I have been busy, so have been lurking--had a red admiral in the garden today, so I grabbed my camera and chased it around for awhile. Finally got a good shot--this is the 1st one I've seen this year
Daily butterfly pictures #91
Thanks for the ID, Kim. I have never seen the BST here. It was great, that she left me a present without me knowing she was here. It is indoor, eating parsley, safe from any kind of predator. Wonderful shots Russell and Jmorth.
So nice, that you thought of including your 80 yrs old neighbor, Nanny. It must of made her day. It also shows, we're never to old to enjoy the wonders of nature. Well done on the release.
Cabbage White.
I have seen two monarchs this last few days, sure glad to know they are finding their way south despite the smoke and crisp countryside. here.
Seen Monarchs a couple each day now! Pics, but no time to load.
Beautiful Buckeye!
I think , I saw a Monarch, yesterday near the river. I need to upload my pictures, to compare the markings on it, with yours. But I can't do it right now. My laptop gave up on me.
These were taken by my GDs this Summer. Sorry about the old foot, in the old shoes. But these old sandals are my most comfortable shoes. So please focus on the butterfly. ;))
Focus on the butterfly I've tried, but ... LOL, just kidding Bernadette. LOL We've red, then white Admirals? Wooohooo, and who is that that landed on your foot? I didn't recognize that one. I too saw a Monarch yesterday, but that was it.
Welcome Bob, I can see how the Junonia coenia is one of your fav. I think they're very striking too. The Strymon melinus or G.H and the Redbanded Hairstreak are some of the tiniest of beauties. How is the autumn air in Md. this time of year?
Ha, bet that hummingbird was none so happy to find a rivalry at the feeder. Nice catch Mrs Ed.
hey...cool shots Mrs. Ed!
One terrific collection of a walk on a Sunday, Wild Rose. Terrific pics. I'm not sure which Frit. But it's so pretty with the sunlight reflection.
