problem with this years corn rows

Shirley, IN

I planted 4 rows of peaches and cream sweet corn and 3 rows of kandy sweet corn . the first row of corn was the p/c ,that row was very unnpresive compared to the othe 3 rows of the same kind .The stalks in the row were short and the ears didn't fill out . the rest of the rows were nice. then the ears on thekandy stalks were strange they deveoped big ears but it is as if the husk around the ears werent big enough and the ears grew out of them. the tops of the cobs were exsposed. I had never seen this can any one tell me what causes it?

Variety and environmental conditions. Short ears (nubbins) can be attributed to lack of water or lack of nutrients or a combination of the two. Ears protruding from the husks is accelerated by a period of stress followed by a period of rapid growth. It is also a varietal thing. some varieties have very good ear cover under the the most adverse conditions. others use any excuse to expose their ears. I never had that problem with Kandy Korn, but Iochief is notorious.

Tammy , check my post 4 or 5 below this one and see if it looks like your corn. This cob grew high on the stalk.
not where it should have grown.
I've pulled many stalks that had no ears developing, the ears that did develop normally were good.
I found a video called 'The world according to Monsanto' it is very long but lots of info. Towards the end they are talking to some Mexican farmers that have grown corn for generations, saving their own seed. Well strange corn stalks are appearing around the their area and their corn is showing some of this same odd growth.
The long and short of the video is that Monsanto's GMO corn seed are cross pollinating .
When a cob grows without a husk around it....That is very Strange.
