Don't forget Jobs was also the genius behind Pixar!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I didn't know that

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - he bought it when it was a puny division of George Lucas's company. Jobs also founded NeXt Computer. Though never really big, it was on one of these computers that the web was born in 1991.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yes, the world has lost a genious who used his gifts for good. Very sad.

Thomaston, CT

Had no idea about Pixar.....very sad to see one so young & talented pass.......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Admired his fanatic attention to detail. An inspiration to my generation of engineers.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

not a fan - an ass to work for - dumped the Apple Lisa on a company i worked for and released the next version weeks later and put a lot of people out of work (press press company the lisa was to be the work station).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Lisa wad a flop. It's your company who made the decision to buy it.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

The decision was made with assurances which were then denied.

he was a fantastic promoter/marketer - how else to explain the huge margins apple enjoys when there are other alternatives with basically the same features for much less.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's a stretch to say the competitors had basically the same features. But he was able to create a cult following for the brand.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i agree with the cult reference

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - but we shouldn't talk. We are into the JM cult. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

ordered another yesterday

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sicko!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Jobs was adopted. What if he never got that 2nd chance??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very happy to report a double dose of good news for my wife today! Thank you all for your support. It really helped. Now I have to pivot to my mom who is having an agiogram tomorrow.

Thomaston, CT

Being adopted, probably didn't know his medical history....in some cases, pancreatic cancer is inheirited.....

Thomaston, CT

Thank God for the good news! Go celebrate! Hug those boys. Hope all goes well for Mom.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Great news Victor.

Dave Thomas who started Wendy's is adopted as well. Now babies are more apt to stay with Mom & have a more difficult time finacially. However, I would hate to go through life wondering where my child was.

I am reading it in black and white Victor :-)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you, all!! ^_^

Wonderful to hear, Victor!! You have a lot of friends who are breathing easier tonight. Celebrate indeed! Take your family out to eat and then send your wife a special, mushy card and gift. Then we turn to prayers for Mom!

In a tribute to Steve Jobs, NBC Nightly News showed a class in Riverdale using Ipads...it was my great niece's class, but she wasn't one of the 2nd graders shown....I was disappointed.

Thomaston, CT

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Will do, Allison.

My grandies like to use my iPad. They jump right in, whereas I, on the other hand, am always afraid I'm going to send something to cyberspace and not be able to retrieve it.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Never used any of his products(that I know of) (and don't own) except itunes, I hated the Mac they had at the school where I used to work good thing I had the option which I could use, I chose pc.
I know all of those in advertising use a mac

Thank God for the good news, Victor. Praying for your mom

Just got good news on my mom. They just finished. She had some blockage, but not terrible. They used the balloon but did not have to put any stents in. She will get out tonight.

Thanks again. You guys are good! ^_^
