Weather In Your Garden # 105

Rain all day, cold and damp...never got out of the 50's today. :(

61° still raining.

Still periods of drizzle.....had to drop off the pictures I'm entering in the fair....the fairgrounds are already a muddy mess.......

There's no doubt here that we've had more rain in the last 24hrs than the 4.5" of rain that hurricane Irene blew on us last week. Periods of drenching rain throughout the day here with little or no wind. Some rain was needed since my area of LI has sandy soil and drains fast but it has been reaching the point of being excessive today.

our downtown is closed again.. all flooded out.. again.. feel so bad for the businesses there

Terrible. What a pattern we are in. Mid NY getting clobbered. Binghamton area, etc.

Weather channel was showing the rain turning to floods through eastern PA. Glad my kids who went to college in upstate NY are away from there. Now older family ladies.

The sandy fast draining soil has been a life saver round here. On and off downpours since I got home from work. I spoke with a man from Wisconsin today. He asked, how ya doin'? I answered we're wet, how bout you? He said, we're cold. Good thing we're not together, we'd be ice.

It's still raining! This is getting a bit scary.

3 major roads are closed around the house.. yes that is enough for me to just stay here

Geez Allison, you need to invest in a boat me thinks.

It's raining (again) and 57 degree's. Hopefully it will clear up so I can get outside and finish digging a few plants I need to ship out. I started to dig yesterday and got it out of the ground and bam! Downpour!! At 56 degree's...I was frozen!!!

Tonight, we'll drop down to 65°, misty/ humid conditions will persist, good chance of fog developing as well.

Wow - crazy rain and thunder overnight. Another 2.18 inches since midnight, for a total so far of 6.25" from this storm. 64 degrees.

First day of school!!! One kid on the bus. One to go.

Two days of rain here, Flights from Rochester to Boston were cancelled indefinitely yesterday, so DH had to fly down to Wash DC first. Very dark outside, rapid rain. Temp. 57 F. at 8:30 am. I've decided not to stock much in the freezer even after finishing cleanup from the last power outage. Everyone on our street wonders why we are the always first to lose power and the last to get it back. Ohh I am worried for the mid atlantic and floods. Please stay safe.

The rain (& thunder & lightning) kept me awake since 4 this morning......I'm sure another 2 or 3" of rain fell.....I'm supposed to be picking & bringing flowers to the fair this evening....everything is waterlogged, & I'm unhappy to say the least.....Allison, enough of my whining, I'm sorry about your flooding....so many folks are suffering.....

OMG....He must have been tired of my whining, too, as the sun just came out....hurting my eyes, I feel like Mr. Mole...LOL....

Thunder scared me half to death at around 5am after 2 other storms rolled thru
we got 3.17" in a couple hours
Lots of lakes in peoples yards, some roads partially flooded, some creeks right at the top of bridge, any more downpours it's def coming over the top

3" or so of rain. raining heavily this morning when I had to go to a Dr's appointment. Had stopped by the time I came home. 61° it says, Feels colder than that.

Wind is really picking up, guess it's the effects from Katia out in the Atlantic

Sunny, mostly clear skies here for the last 4hrs, strange to see the sun again. When it first came out about 9am it continued to rain for an hour - an hour long sun-shower.. then it dissipated. Can hear some thunder to the Southeast over the ocean every now and then, we still have a good possibility of a heavy thunderstorm. Seems we're in a 'pocket' of sunny skies for the time being.

A mind-boggling 68 inches of rain for the year so far, and we're only in early September. And this misses a lot of snow melt.

Too bad it all comes as a deluge every so often, my plants look like they've had summer vacation in the Sahara.

Still raining but it slows down some. Billerica MA, a western suburb of Boston, has flood warnings.

I've had it more steady here, but still with many deluges. Cannot remember the last time I watered a plant in the ground.

The evacuations from that wildfire are happening only 5 miles from my friend's house....she has her rv all packed and ready if they need to leave

My county is now included in the IRS break. Quarterly taxes, normally due on 9/15, are now due on 10/31.

We pay twice per year, that way we can breathe for 6 mos and then scream, breathe, then scream, get less of a sore throat that way...

Mine is paid by my mortgage company so it hurts a little less
