There are lots of comments on different sites from people trying to get to work in NJ. I'm guessing lots of detours that you don't know about until you get there.
I don't know if this was posted - it is in Boonton, NJ. Can you imagine if you were driving by?

I tried to get to the farmer's market which is directly south of us on the same road, but I knew that at this one low spot it would be flooded so planned on going around it, a left, a right, a right and another right to get back on our road....NOPE NOPE AND NOPE.....the first right, road closed, the second right road closed....now I'm about 3 miles from our street....have to go ALL the way around the other way can't even get to the cross street road closed....sheesh didn't realize how close we were to be blocked in on all sides
Got power back, 2 out of 3 DD's are still without. :(
hope they get it back soon Celeste.. took me an hour to drive 5 mins away from the house this morning.. did 2 stops.. and couldn't get anywhere else.. called work and told them I can't go anywhere.. and they told me the building in Morristown .. they are closing it for good.. boarding it up and pad locking the doors.. too trashed inside.. and no money to fix it.. might be close to Weeze if they make me go to Asbury ... UGH.. only 70 miles from home
In Warren, CT, it's as if nothing happened, with 2 exceptions: the stream that had become a meadow is loud and strong, and the tomatoes stskes were at 45 degrees. That's all.
In Southampton at my late Mom's house, there was minor debris on walkways, deck and roof, already cleaned up. There is also no power. Lawyer tenants are demanding per diem refunds...hah! This is a small, inexpensive rental. Good luck to them! When home insurance recognizes that as a legitimate claim, maybe...but they shouldn't hold their breath.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
Pam
Geez Allison, looked at those pictures....the Denville sign I remember very well. :) Had to send that link to Tarsha and asked if she wanted to visit you again. ^_^
got a boat?... LOL.. I just read that part of 46 is now open
As a matter of fact, I do. A canoe too. :)
row on over!!
Still waiting on Louise & Pirl to check in aren't we? Hope they are ok.....getting a little worried. :(
I am so glad to hear that everyone is doing well and has not suffered any extreme damage. I'm still hoping that Pirl's absence is due to power failure.
Well now, that's cross posting !
I tried calling Pirl again.. said all circuits are busy
99% of Pirls town is without power, the article I read didn't indicated that they had widespread damage or any fatalities.
Thank you Araness!
Lots of trees down in the Northfork due to winds. They still have no electricity, it's a protected area from the ocean's surge.
Edit: - also a lot of traffic lights out from here to there, so it's not a good idea to buzz by there...
- called her also.. same result as everyone else..

Was checking a map pinpointing flood reports in NJ as I still have family living in the Trenton/Princeton area. The usual spots along the Delaware and the Assunpink Creek were up. I have lived through several hurricanes and floods in Trenton, when I used to live there. It's a mess.
Martha
$20 says she's pulling more of that evil weed. And getting things cleaned up in the yard. :)
Carrier pigeon business would do well here in times like these.
LOL, Outlaw, I'll put up 200 that she's still giving the Houtt the boot. Power or no power, she's got sunny skies in perfect temps to rid the beast! :)
the whole stretch up the Delaware is a mess Martha
All of i-90 is a mess. Hope no one planned on taking the thruway
Death toll now 40.
so sad
showing that same little falls / wayne area.. double over the flood stage
:(
We had a bunch of road closings in our area yesterday because two small dams upriver from a much larger one that protects the whole town of Millville were in danger of failing. Kids at tennis practice couldn't get home! So far everything's okay, but my DGD wanted us to take her waterskiing today with her friend and I don't think the water quality is safe enough for that, to say nothing of the danger of encountering barely submerged floating debris.
UGH.. what a mess.. think I am staying home and not going to try and deal with that craziness again today
amazing force
wow.. bad stuff
ducks ok?
