Daily Bird Pics - Vol. 412
Wow!! Burd. So many great shots! Loved the in flight shots, especially the Belted Kingfisher, but so many of them were first rate.
Super pics Burd!! Enjoyed them all....and great timing on the Shovelers...now I know for positive what flew over me the other evening!!
New Holland Honeyeater is on of my favorites...Love it Margaret!!
Saw these 2 female Pileated Woodpeckers on yesterdays walk.....they were really working this tree!
Wow great shots everyone!!!
If I remember right, round eye = safe, vertical slit-eye = venomous, so this one's safe.
Resin
Thanks Resin, I appreciate the info, as I said before I am sorry it was not a bird or flower, but just wanted to make sure.
Oh Duc, that's chipmunk is so cute sneaking in a drink. And the Pelicans are so pretty. Which direction are they coming from please.
Duc, That is a wonderful shot with the hummer and chippie!
Lily, to answer your question on the white pelicans, some of them are here year round depending on how much bait fish are in the lake and we have read that the fish are just now beginning to show up. That means we'll be seeing more pelicans, egrets and herons-yahoo! Sorry I can't say exactly where these pelicans have been.
The berries are beginning to turn colors on my Virginia Creeper and this Calif. Thrasher is taking advantage early.
Great photos, everyone. Adelbertcat, those Quail babies are adorable.
Carla
Great pics, all! I haven't been on DG much recently, nor have I been taking any bird pics in this triple digit heat. I'm heading back to the mountains this w/e. The San Juans of SW Colorado for 6 days and then a couple of nights in Santa Fe on the way home. Maybe I'll see something interesting out there.
Here's a ringneck from the archives. I processed it with Photomatix Pro and gave it a painterly effect.
Nice one of the Road Runner chicochi!
Great shots guys!
Chicochi, nice RR, Red. How colorful the Ringneck is!
Thank you Duc for the info. on the Pellicans. Lovely shots of your local birds. I love them all. Nan, nice silhouette of the hummer!
I've been trying to get some hummingbird photos like you guys have on here, but they always seem to leave when I take the camera out.
Chicochi3...we love Road Runner...very cool!
Red...beautiful pheasant too!
I still have orioles here...have never had them this late...really move on! lol
Went down to the lake but not a whole lot . It is better after the Marina closes which will be the 25th of this month.
Best I could get of this Great Blue Heron......
Wonderful, wonderful photos everyone. So enjoyed seeing all your different birds. I don't have many different birds now. The orioles have left. I saw one humming bird this morning, a tiny Caliope, still tasting the flowers and checking to see that there is still nectar in the feeder. thanks everyone for sending along the different bird photos.
