I planted some Abelia mosanensis (fragrant abelia) two years ago as small 2 - 12 inch plants. They are appr 2 feet tall now but very straggly.
Should they be pruned to force more shoots?
How to make them a more full shrub instead of just a couple of thin limbs?

Abelia mosanensis straggly
Our local post office has many abelia shrubs and they are pruned several times every summer. They come back nice and full. I would certainly go ahead and prune them while they're young to encourage more fullness.
Thanks for the advice. I will prune them today.
