Problem with new Ash tree please help me identify

Eastern Nevada, United States

Hello All, I need some help with trying to figure out what is wrong with my ash tree. I have searched books and online and keep getting different answers...one being EAB (Emerald Ash Borer Beetle, which I pray it is not) I live in North Eastern Nevada and last fall (1 year ago actually) we planted 78 - 15 to 20' trees that we purchased from a tree farm in Idaho. We planted several different species with two of them being the Mancana Ash and the Patmore Ash. Things have been going pretty good with them as we havent lost a single one yet, but now I have discovered a problem with one of the ash. In several different locations of the tree the leaves are turning yellow and drying up to a crunchy state. It seems like the are clustered. I have attached a few photo's for you to look at. Please help me if you can...I would hate for this to spread to all of my trees :(

Thank you so much
Sandy

As far as I know, the emerald ash borer doesn't occur anywhere near as far west as NV & ID so while I don't know what's wrong with your tree, I think it's most likely something other than EAB. http://www.emeraldashborer.info/map.cfm

Cut off a few leaves and send them back to the place you bought the tree's, they must be experts on this, the leaves do look like there is an infestation of a sucker type insect thriving on the leaves, but also it could be that there is a lack of water as the leaves do look brittle, wish I could be more helpful and hope you can find the problem sooner than later as it may be something that spreads, also you don'tdon't say if it is just the one type of Ash that is suffering, this may help to eliminate some insects troubles. OR cut a few leaves and take home to look at under eye-glass that will magnify anything, particular look at the back of the leaves as there are insects that only live underside of leaves.
Good luck, WeeNel.
