Cranberry and lingonberry in Virginia?

Hi,
Has anyone tried growing cranberry or lingonberry in northern Virginia (zone 7)? Local nurseries do not order them because they don't think these two kinds of berries will grow well. I'd like to grow them as ground cover and for consumption. They should theoretically grow in zone 7. Please advise. Thanks.
