my petunias have gotten really leggie, can i trim them back and will they bloom again? thanks, lizzie
petunias.
Yes, you can and, yes, they'll bloom again. Give them some food after you trim them.
typically I do this in July - I still haven't done this. Maybe tomorrow?
Sounds like last winter and our dahlias, Carolyn!
I have pinched many but others don't seem to need it and I'm late for one - then it gets testy because they don't look ravishing after a hard pinching.
There are three here and I fed the left and right with Epsom Salt (1 tablespoon to a gallon of tepid water) but didn't feed the center. It's clear that it works.
The Supertunias have been fantastic and I'll definitely be buying them next year.

boy do you have that one right! I seem to have been running 10 minutes behind all year. I was just realizing that I hadn't made any jams, jellies or done any veggies yet this year. My family looks forward to them at Christmas time. Looks like they will just have to be happy with applesauce!
Love the supertunias.....
We all have that mental to-do list, Carolyn, and I think women have many more items on them than men do.
Arlene
I do agree. I need to make a mental note to cut back my toonies.
