Last summer I dried both the flowers as well as some leaves of my passiflora incarnata, (the non-poisonous passion flower). They were completely dried (I do alot of plant drying), and then I stored them in dark brown plastic bottles. When I opened them this past winter to use a bit, both the leaves as well as the flowers smelled so strongly of ammonia it nearly knoecked my head off!
Do you know why? Did I do something wrong? They are blooming again and I would like to dry and store some but I am concerned about the high ammonia smell in them!
Help please- How do I store dried passion flower?
