Hello. I am new to vegetable gardening. I installed and planted four 4' by 8' veggie beds in the spring. All was well until we went away on vacation a couple of weeks ago. I had drip irrigation put in the veggie beds because we would be away. Unfortunately, it thunder stormed the whole week were gone and when we got back 2 of the beds were covered in what looked like spores of some kind and the leaves had mildew spots on them. In one of the beds the cucumbers and bush beans were rotting, so I pulled them out. I've cut off all dead leaves from the remaining plants, but that white stuff is all over the soil and also still covering plants in both beds. I refrained from watering for a couple of days to let everything dry out. My tomato plants seem to be starting to mildew also. What do I do? Please help.
Mold, Mildew, or Mushroom spores: PLEASE HELP!
You do not have good drainage. You need to improve your soil by adding leaves, chips, or something to fluff up your soil.
