Last year I bought two oleanders. Beautiful pink flowers. Over winter here in TX we had an unusual cold snap. I though that was the end of them. Then in the spring I saw life! I couldn't believe it! It took them most of the spring and summer to finally bloom and when they did, one plant was no longer pink but bloomed white instead! Why? Does anyone have any ideas? I have been unsuccessful in finding any information online.
Oleander flowers changed from pink to white!
It could be that the pink flower producing stalks were grafted onto a sturdy white blooming root stock. The pink producing stock froze and the hardy white sent up stock producing white flowers.
In any case be very careful handling Oleander. It is very poisonous.

Sugarweed could be right, but on the other hand, I have a red rose of sharon that first went pink & now white with no top loss.
