I have two raspberry bushes planted next to a blackberry bush. The rootball spacing at planting was 4' apart. They are all doing very good. In fact the blackberry is going crazy. Anyway, the other day at work a lady told me that they should not be planted next to each other as they will not produce fruit. This is something I have not heard. Is this true?
Can Blackberries and Raspberries Be Planted by each other
Hello????
I have Heritage, Caroline and Anne raspberries planted in a row right next to my boysenberries and got flowers and berries forming on all of them. I don't know if true blackberries would act any different than the boysens, but I'm not having an issue myself.
I have multiple Raspberries planted in large pots right next to Blackberries, and Blueberries too. I got flowers and fruit on all. I have never heard of this being a problem.
