Weather in your garden # 101

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Jumper's my 48hr forecast, even if it's a bad forecast.. Ugh!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

High was 88° wasn't that humid but as the sun was setting it was getting there, it's now up to 78%

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

65 now going to 90

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Sounds like the way the summer people expect to drive out here, Allison: 65 going to 90.

73 now but awful humidity of 95% (like breathing pea soup out there), going up to 88. I'm going out to weed.

Jumper was my forecaster first, WC! Hands off!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

is very thick out there

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Jezz! Everything is a battle with women!!

73°, wind from the Southwest at 5mph, H 90%, Hazy skies
Going up to 90° here, humidity on the rise, winds will double to about 11mph, (blowtorch). Down to 72° overnight with a thunderstorm or two in some areas. - hotter tomorrow.

Today hot so I am going out to turn on the water for the veggies.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

66 with 83% humidity at the moment. YUK! heading up to 87 today......that means 90 in the city. Not going to town today!

South Hamilton, MA

70 now, wish it would stay that way.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Me too irisMA, that would be perfect!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Gross day ahead. 79, with 70% H.

Thomaston, CT

Getting hard to breathe here....guess it's an indoor a/c kind of day.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

hot and humid

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

92, with 47% H. Just plain hot!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, hot again. The only way I endured the heat was by imagining how the workers across the street, working with cutting bluestone, must be feeling. It's been going on for a very long time...as in weeks! I don't know how they can tolerate it with the view of the water and a swimming pool to look at all day long as they sweat.

It makes me feel less of a wimp because I did put in five hours before I quit. High was 85 and it doesn't feel it could get low enough for me to enjoy any more work this afternoon.

82 with 64% H. now. AC feels fantastic.

Bless the person who invented air conditioning!!

If you love summer and the heat, and your inside I pray for you. If your inside and dont have AC, I pray for you harder.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Makes you wonder how we grew up and survived to tell of the days without AC!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes it does.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Lots of good discount tickets to Florida now in case anyone is interested!

Free AC Flight?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes! but that's a good point, the way they charge a la carte now one day they'll probably add an extra fee for A/C!

87°, ('real feel of 93°), H 58%
- feels like an oven out there.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

was supposed to be hot and humis again today. We just had a storm come through and it seems to have cooled things off. Not complaining!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

WC and I always love your reports, Jumper!

WC - come on out. It "only" feels like 86 out here!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

You're welcome. It's nice I can give you a 'heads up'.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

We both appreciate it and I, for one, am looking forward to the rain.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Ditto!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

90 and humid here right now. Had to come in from the garden at the insistence of You Know Who! The air is on and it's getting colorful outside, so I'm all set! It's times like these that DG comes in really handy!

South Hamilton, MA

88° there is a breeze outside. Too hot to go grocery shopping so will do tomorrow in the morning when it is cooler. Work being done on the house so didn't do it today. Sideing was replaced where last yr downy woodpeckers did holes. this type of thing is supposed to be a trick of juvenile birds so hope they nest elsewhere.

LOVE it Sherrie!

I was saying something similiar Victor...while on the way home from running some errands, turn the a/c on in the car and say so glad hubby does a/c, cause if anything ever went wrong in this heat I wouldn't be a happy camper

90° 54% humidity

Tomorrow - Brutal here and then Brutal T-Storms. Oh great another one.

Thomaston, CT

Paving on the road all day today....what a mess! At one point the road was totally closed, & Suey & I had to sit in the dam parking lot.....the worker finally yelled over to me, using my FIRST name, that it was OK to use the road....have no idea who this man is, if it's a former student , I don't like him using my first name! Any way, temp is 88 but a nice breeze is making it bearable....concert on the green tonight, T-storms later....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yuck - bad timing in this heat.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

just brutal out there.. went to fill the bird baths.. sweat just pouring off me.. the battery in the motorized feeder died and the grackles are having a blast
:(
plugged in the spare now.. too late

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Just came back in from the incinerator out there. The vegetable garden is like a brick! I'm hoping for some rain tonight! With all the re-doing of my flower gardens, I've paid little or no attention to the veggies this year. Tonight is NOT the night to start!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - hideous. Still 87 - with 63% H. A/C night.

Mid-Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5b)

It's almost 9 pm and it's 79 degrees outside. Too hot!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We hit 89 out here in the country, town made it to 93. They are saying country will be 90 tomorrow....didn't even look to see what the city would be but it's usually 4 -5 degree's warmer. I'm heading to the beach tomorrow, watch out Sandpipers....you'll be needing to share the beach!

Thomaston, CT

Oh, lucky you, Pixie! I have an outdoor art class....it's still 80 here....a slight breeze at the concert made it bearable....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very thick out
