Summer weather has finally arrived, hot, humid and sticky!
Raining at the moment at a comfy 64 degree's heading for a high of 79 today with sunny skies this afternoon. The fog should be rolling up the meadow again when the rain stops and the sun comes out.
Weather in your garden # 101
it was a huge amount of rain... one of my sheppard hooks.. had 3 hanging pots on it.. guess the ground got too soft & pots too heavy.. and looks like it slowly set itself on the ground.. not too much damage under it... wonderful breeze now and 66... going to 87.. guess the windows will be closing soon but for now.. it feels nice
The winds in our last storm knocked over my plant stant w/hanging basket. It bounced back after a few days , but it looked pretty bad at first.
your new one?
Yup
bummer .. figured it would be secure having the legs
Not in 45-50mph gust. :(
guess not
:(
- Nice shot Pixie!
72°, wind from the Northwest at 7mph, H 83%, clear skies
Going up to 89° today with lower humidity towards afternoon. Dropping down to about 65° under hazy skies tonight.
77, 74% H, 3 MPH breeze, sunny. Going to 88.
.62 rain last night.
great breeze.. house still feels good.. even though I am in and out all morning
A beautiful summer day.....this is what I dream of in January.....
I agree, Marilyn! A perfect summer day here! I did some lollygagging around the gardens and then we sat in the shade in the Adirondack chairs and watched the girls play in the yard. It was so nice out we decided to have lunch in the shade. A perfect 70 degrees at the moment. Let's hope it's something like this next Saturday for the RU. We will have it rain or shine since we have plenty of room on the porches and inside as well.
I agree - it was a perfect day! Except for the part where I got stung five times by a yellow jacket. Ouch! Now I'm afraid to finish weeding that area!
Once is bad enough but five times!!!
No wonder!
Hi Pirl! I meant to tell you that your photo of the raindrop on the caladium is photo contest stuff!
Yeah I must have ticked him off. There mayhave been more than one YJ. I didn't stick around long enough to count :)
ouch songs.. that's terrible!
Thanks, Louise.
Holy crap, Christina - I would be reaching for the Epi-pen!
Gorgeous day. Just back from Meriden, CT to visit friends. Nice breeze all day and low humidity.
No I'll effects so I guess I'm not allergic. It's still painful though, several hours later.
OWWWWWW, I would be swollen up like a balloon
WOW Louise a gorgeous 70????NICE!!!! How about 20 degrees hotter??? High was 90° here
woke up to a chilly 58... going to 86 .. air will be back on again later
71 now and I'd love it if it didn't go higher.
61 and sunny , beautiful morning!!!! heading to a high of 82 today....livable. Yesterday was a near perfect 10 day in MHO. Sunny, 77 with a nice breeze.
78°, wind from the Southeast at 5mph, H 49%, clear skies.
on the way to 83° with a 'real feel' of 88°, mostly clear today into tonight with a low of 66° predicted overnight.
Hot day ahead, but at least it's not humid.
Sorry about the stings, SOJ....yellow jackets are wicked! When I delivered mail, they would hide in the boxes until I opened them....many stings....Looks like another great day here...sunny & clear....am heading to a garden lecture, then to see a landscape designer's gardens.....
I have the fake nests and they are working well. Does not keep them totally away but does prevent them nesting, which keeps the numbers way down. They are very territorial so they see it and will not build one nearby.
80 and sunny.
Take photos, Marilyn. Sounds like a lovely way to spend some time today.
78, great in the shade but awful (as usual) in the sun.
Hi. Just back from Nashville. Was a balmy 97 degrees when we left for the airport this noon. I wasn't there long and we didn't do much. Husband took down a small tree in the back yard and I pulled out some cast iron bind-weed like stuff from a flower patch. What fun. The mosquitoes were as thick as soup and I have a bunch of bites. It's a really different environment down there for sure. But the visit with my friend was very worth it and coming home to the delicious smell and the 75 degrees in my garden was wonderful too.
Pretty picture of the water drop, really, really sorry about the yellow jacket - Ouch, and interesting link about snow in July.
The garden lecture was about insects in the garden....I thought it would be about garden design, since that's what she is....never got to the gardens which were located about 25 miles from my house.....over 50 people attended the lecture....there was parking for only 15 cars at the gardens....the museum director casually told folks to car pool....I went home.
Joplin, MO, hit 107 today - hottest in 25 years. They cannot catch a break there.
Oh, dear...& I'm complaining about insignificant things....sort of puts things into perspective....
hot and humid today
74°, H 84%
Low 80s today. Predicted 90s & humid for tomorrow. Jumper I do wish that you kept your Hot & humid to yourself.
