has anyone heard of this wonderful, yellow plant /( does not look like a primula) I found it by the roadside in Humboldt County and would fearly love to get the seeds ( cannot find it anymore )
Hookers primula
Brioche, I have searched a number of data bases and the only Hookers primula I found was a purple blooming plant. Are you sure of the ID?

Give this link a look and see if anything here matches your plant. Do you by chance have a pic of the foliage?
It's an evening primrose (Oenothera) not a primrose (Primula). Could be Oenothera hookeri http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/136257/ but there are a lot of other Oenothera species that would look somewhat similar so I don't know that it's necessarily that particular one.
Thank you - it is evening primrose - oenothera hookeri - it is native to No America and I was able to find seeds at "www.everwilde.com"
Glad you found your seeds.
Really great information.........
