looks like it's closing in on us
I'd extend those borders a little, remember when Jeff Goldblum said 'life finds a way' in Jurassic Park...
(lol)
so true
First i've heard of this plant.
I see it all along the Appy Trail where I hike......
Got a few spots of PI too.
First I have heard of the hogweed. I see it is all over MA with a nice purple spot over Essex county. Anyway when the nursery inspecter was here last week, he didn't say anything so must not have seen any. Mainly looking for larvae & adult bugs.

As I figured before I even looked it up...another stinkin imported pest
Hubby has another viewing to go to tonight, someone he was on the fire dept with when we first got married. He was in his early 50's had a massive heart attack...his twin brother died of the same thing a couple years ago
looks like it's nowhere near me so far
Last week I cut back every rose so there would be no buds for the Japanese beetles to feast and continue with their orgies. It worked. I've only found three of them.
If I had allowed the roses to bloom they'd be history in a day with this heat anyhow.
The whitefiles stopped by and had lunch here last month, (with all the damp days w/o sun), but I started spraying with neem oil and recovered the damaged plants. Not too many beetles so far, but I know they're probably in my neighbor's yard waiting for my roses to bloom..
Zagat probably has a guide just for the JB's.
I am seeing them now.
Not here yet....crossing my fingers....
Saw my first JB today. :(
My 16 year old niece just got out of a 9 hour heart surgery, actually her 5th heart surgery. On her way from the OR to recovery she was awake enough to talk to us for a few minutes. Surgery went well, I was very impressed with the surgeon. He actually hugged Rebecca's dad. It was the third surgery he did on her.
That's a lot of surgeries for such a young age, - I wish her well.
Wow - best to her, Deb. Way too much for a kid to have to go through.
Decided to finally try a chiropractor for my back. Verified that our plan does cover it. Any advice about choosing one? I have a few in the plan right in the area. Aside from recommendations, what else to consider? If I see a little Gumby doll in the office, should I worry?
Thanks WC and Victor, she's such a tough kid, the surgeon said she wouldn't be awake til midnight, so we were surprised she talked to us. Well, she really just shook her head and held our hands, but still. Her first surgery was shortly after birth. She's done better than anyone expected.
Best wishes to her.
tough girl debi - hoping for the best for her
Obviously a congenital problem. What is the outlook?
thanks Iris and Bill
Victor, I have no chiropractor experience.
Reminds me of my aunt, who now has Alzheimer's. She was born with fibrous displasia and had tons of surgeries. She is over 30 now. She lived at Blythedale Hospital for ten years.
On a different note, I think my fingers or knuckles are swelling with age! Might not be able to wear the wedding ring anymore. Took it off today - with great difficulty (physical, not emotional ^_^), and I still see the clear impression eight hours later! To boot, I have a spot of PI in there. Has this happened to anyone else?
This surgery was to divert blood from her liver to her lung, her O2 sats were in the 60s to low 70s. We're not sure of the long term outlook, but she's already done better than expected. Her previous surgery was 6 years ago, so hopefully this one will last longer.
10 years is a long time to be in a hospital.
