Hey Gloria! We're almost neighbors! How bout that?!

Here is a plant from a cutting sent to me in May by a dear friend from Virginia Beach. I'm guessing that it's unusual for a cutting to bloom, and she's making a big fuss (she's faking it) about the fact that the parent plant isn't blooming, so I'm guessing that this plant likes the cultural conditions I'm providing.

These are the inflo buds:

This should tell you a little about the soil I use ...... and terra cotta is an excellent choice for this (and other) plants because it's gas-permeable. It's sited where it gets full sun until about 3PM, then it's shaded until just before sundown.

.... and the inflo - taken at night, of course. The next day (yesterday) was overcast & rainy, so the bloom looked reasonably good until midday, then slowly faded.

I fertilize almost ALL my plants regularly with a 3:1:2 RATIO (different than NPK %s) fertilizer like Miracle-Gro 24-8-16 or 12-4-8 liquid. I actually use Foliage-Pro 9-3-6 on nearly everything, but it's not as easy to find as the MG, which you can find practically everywhere fertilizers are sold.

Best luck!

Oops - forgot the bloom ..... and inflo(rescence) isn't the right term for the bloom - sorry, I was still in plumeria mode. ;-)
