Hi
A number of years ago (15 or so) my dad had an amazing 6 foot fuscia standard, that whilst playing in the garden, I managed the flukiest throw of a frisbee ever, and lopped it off, about 2 inches below the leaves. Dad was not best pleased.
I was wandering round the local DIY store a month or so ago, and saw an unloved tiny fuscia bush plant, that I thought would be nice to train to standard, and offer to my Dad. Also as a bit of proof to my GF, that I could look after something living (no pets allowed in the flat).
Unfortunately, when I looked closer it couldn't be trained to standard, as the DIY store had mullered it, with no single central stalk to use, but it was really beautiful so I bought it.
A couple of weeks later, my mum turned up at my front door after speaking to her about it with another fuscia, that could be trained, so set about looking after it.
The problem I have, is the standard has massive, dock leaf style leaves, where as the original is still proper delicate. Also this weekend (I was on a stag doo) it has literally sprouted shrek ears in 48 hours.
Any ideas on what to do, and what to do next.
The photo is (from the left), Frisbee, the standard, the peppers twins, and foo foo to the right, the original fuscia. and also a butter (lurpack) packet, with some free basil seeds in potting compund, that I have to plant up.
Both frisbee and foo are over 3 times the size of when I got them, foo foo, 45 or so days ago, and frisbee about 30 days ago.
Btw, frisbee can't get any higher, I cannot lift the blind and I have no outdoors area.
Foo Foo drinks water like its going out of fashion, and all have recommended doses of miracle grow liquid feed.
I know its a bit weird I have named them.
Help with my Fuscias
