Hi,
I just planted an emperor Japanese maple. I want to plant something around it, Like a variegated liriope and a gold mop cypress.
Any ideas or suggestion would be highly appreciated. I am in Northern Va. The spot where I planted my JM receives morning sun.out th
Also wanted to know about the yellow foliage falsecyress, which variety retains its yellow color in the winter and can I plant it as a border plant and does well to heavy pruning .

I have Liriope with a new Tamuke yama and the Liriope is growing WAY faster than the JM so I may be changing that...
Thank You , I checked out the link, it says that plant is for a shady location, the area that I planted My JM receives sun, It is about 5 ft.

It states the 'Hakonechloa Macra Aureola' is good for mostly sunny- full shade. You said your JM gets morning sun, that would be perfect.
