I have 3 Gardenia plants in containers, after having almost killed 2 of them, I need help?

Hi, Sorry to say, but I am not coming to you with help. I came to get help myself and hoped by now someone had posted a reply to your plea. I bought very pretty large plants at a garden center in the spring. They were covered with blooms and smelled fantastic. They are pretty big plants in pots. I'd guess they are about 4 ft tall and are supported by a trellis. I think I paid between thirty and forty bucks each so they were really pretty nice. They dropped their buds as soon as we got home with them and never have grown any new ones. Now that it is getting on towards fall they are losing leaves that have turned yellow. I'm in Kansas and so they don't grow naturally here. I thought we'd just bring them inside for the winter but that is not going to work if they aren't even doing well through the summer. I guess I'll go see what I can find about them at the library of our book store. I hope yours is doing well. Blessings Gayla (moonrose777@yahoo.com )

It would help if we knew what kind of conditions you have the gardenias in--east sun, west sun? How much are you watering them--you can give too much or too little.

The above site has minimal information that might help you with basic care for your gardenias.
