everything looks greatAllison.
SIL's cousin and kids were here for supper last night. She hasnt bothered to teach her kids how to behave at someones house.
They ran wild inside and out.
I took a sleeping pill at 8 o'clockbecause I couldnt walk another step ,to make sure the kids kept out of the gardens, and had gone to bed at seven. SIL did his best to keep the kids occupied.
We do have nearly a quarter acre front yard, but no.
I just took a tour to see what the damage was and found lily blooms and columbines in the 3 the annual planters in the gardens. The little girl ( age 4)must have escaped and went on a picking spree when no one was looking.
It's not that I mind three or four lilies being misplaced , it could have been worse. The 2 kids could have played football and run thru all the gardens.
I am trying to keep everything looking in top shape for a" afternoon in the garden" party Friday.
Rain and humidity has dropped everything. I am just hopeing plants will right themselves by friday afternoon.
Cousins are gone now. I had forgotten what it's like to have kids around, its so quiet here with grown grandchildren.
the deer & bunnies did more damage here.. will keep my fingers crossed for friday
I agree about deer and bunnies.I spray and dont have the problem
The little girl must have been able to walk around the lilie disturbe and not them.
There is a few clumps of budded Orientals between the end of the walk and the lollipops she picked.
I told DD the story and she said the little girl was wandering and singing to herself all alone in the garden before SIL noticed her and fetched her back to the party.
How could anyone be angry with the charm of that?
I sprayed this year to no avail... bunny even ate a lot of new phlox I planted this year... down to the stems
:(
Awe, sounds like me Grandaughters Jo, can't get mad when the pick a bloom then oh and ahhh about how pretty it is or how good it smells. ^_^
