Red dots on my cherry tree leaf

Hello,
I am a beginner garderener. This year we planted a cherry tree Lupine. It's doing nicely and got lots of leafs and even cherries.
But what worries me know is that leafs are starting to turn yellow and fall.
When I looked closely I noticed red dots on the stems of the leafs close the base, there are always two on each leaf and they almost symmetrical but not exactly.
Is it normal? Is that why they are turning yellow so quickly?
May be we need to water more/less? It's very rainy spring and summer this year.
I leave north of Toronto, Ontario. It's zone 5.
