Hello everyone, I am a new member and would appreciate any help regarding the fruiting of the rubus pentalobus or better known as the orange berry bush. I have discovered that they are rather reluctant to fruit and need either blackberry or raspberry plants to help them produce fruit. Does anyone else here have these plants and if so have you had them fruit or know anything that could help. They are rather a lovely creeping plant and I do hope they will produce some fruit later on once established...
rubus pentalobus Orange Berry query!
Sorry I dintdon't know anything about these plants or the name, however, all fruit require both Male / female to pollinate the flowers that then go on to make the fruit, so the friends information is correct in as much you need another plant, which on is what you need to get right or you could end up with an orchard and still not the right kind of fruit ha, ha, ha, hope someone else comes in and can help you out. Good luck. Weenel.
