'Lakeside Cha Cha' with a different bird's nest fern next to it. That BNF is not doing so well. Has some fronds turning brown, but it did just put out new growth, so maybe that's normal. Not sure.

Garden Projects #5
so tranquil looking Karen
Thanks, Allison.
the way you have the pavers... only need to draw a face there!!
LOL! I didn't even notice that.
Karen
Nice, Karen. Looks like the Gingerbread Man to me!
The bottom part looks like a butterfly
I like the pattern of the paves. A P McConnell grows very nicely. We have had it for years, might move a piece as it is really gettting shaded in its spot.
I like the bird's nest fern! I think the pavers will look good once they're done and you have plants growing around them.
Thanks, guys. Okay, I guess I can get used to those pavers. I want to put something between them to grow, like Scotch moss or Irish moss, or maybe Brass Buttons (Leptinella squalida).
Karen
The gardens look wonderful, Karen....I like your choice of hostas....once the paving stones are set, plants around them, they'll look fine....
Thanks, Marilyn.
Karen
Now that I only have half a maple tree over my shade garden, I guess I can plant a few things that can stand more sun....maybe some martagon lilies....
you going to leave the 1/2 maple?
Yes, for now....it's the only shade for my porch :>(.....
oohhh need that
Love my screened porch.....
I would love that too
Did you lose half the maple in a storm? I must have missed that somewhere. Maybe it was on a different thread.
Karen
Yes, Karen, the same storm that took the white pine & all my wires down....
Wow, had to go all the way back to the last thread to catch up after my flukey internet saga! Songs, I really like the idea of those pond stepping stones! I'd love to be walking across the pond! Bill, it's VERY hard to think of any way to improve your fabulous place, but the 4-foot deep pond sounds like a great addition, except for that water snake we met at your place during our last visit. LOL
Here's a couple shots of the progress on my stone wall garden re-do. I appreciate all the ideas about getting rid of our LOTV plot. We found out we have to be very careful about the use of any chemicals, because our well is adjacent to this area. So far, we've only done the vinegar thing and we're making good progress. You guys that come to our RU will see it first hand. Not attractive, except to the Bichons, who love taking a running leap over the short fence into the forbidden area.
Red Kiss Rex Begonia and Hadspen Blue hosta on the far end. The strange thing on the rock is something I dug up in the area as I was cleaning things out this year. An elderly man who remembers what was where on the Farm in the early 20th century looked at this piece and said it came from the area around an old shed where they stored all the broken iron pieces. I like it being part of the scene where I found it.
OMG, looks like a fish tail! Louise, the gardens look great......and are those LABELS I see with every plant? I need to do that.....loved the way Boojum's garden was totally labeled.....
It is very heavy metal, Marilynn! And yes, it does resemble a fish tail. Thank you re: the gardens, and yes, I did get some of the EON plant markers as it started to get beyond me to keep up with which plant was which. These are the small mini-swinger markers. I love them and they are very helpful and hold up well. Boojum and Bill have them and after seeing theirs, I decided to give them a try.
I think I must get them!
Looks great, Louise! I can't wait to see it in person.
Haven't worked on any projects lately. Today I just did a lot of weeding and potted up a few things. Weeds are getting out of hand in many areas here.
Karen
Looks the same Jo. I would have thought there'd be more growth and blooms by now.
Karen
Ohhhh Karen.I must not have taken a recent pix and thought that was the one, back in a minute.
Oh, yeah....lookin' good!
Filled in pretty nicely.
Looks great, JoAnn!! Mine have filled in a bit more than I expected. I always seem to plant things closer together than I probably should. More of the ditch lilies sneaked in and are showing off their 200 years of fullness, so they will have to be moved to another resort in the fall.
They do that, don't they! My hostas are crying out to be divided, but what a job! Also some geraniums are headed for the compost!
Daylily foliage is covering up the astilbe. Will have to move it.
