My husband bought two pots of tomato seedlings with 2 tomato plants in each pot. He planted them "as it". Now there are 2 growing
1/2" apart! I think one should be removed. He says it's ok to leave them together. Same thing with his green peppers. What say you?
2 tomato plants in nursery pot......plant together?
I would separate them and plant them about two feet apart - same with the green peppers.
Yep. What HoneybeeNC said...
As another viewpoint, there are others on this board that have reported good success when planting "twin" tomato plants without separating them. I'm trying it with one "pair" of Lizzano cherry tomato plants this year, and it's too early to claim success, but they are growing very well so far, and have multiple flowers and some tiny fruit at this point. If they're already in the ground, it might do more harm to dig them up and separate them at this point. I'd let them go and see what happens :>)
