Acanthus mollis - bear's breeches - success in 5a?

Hi!

I received 3 bear's breeches (mollis) as a gift, planted them and landscaper cut one down! Anyway, in my search for replacements, noticed hardy to zone 6 or 7. Wondering if anyone is/has been successful in 5a?
