Hi--I planted 3 Whiteswan coneflowers last year. This year I am (im)patiently waiting for them to come back. Because I live in northern Canada (zone 1b), it is the time of year when my perennials are bursting through the soil and surprising me that they survived another winter. Does anyone know if coneflowers are later than other plants at poking through? And do they survive by self-seeding or by sending up shoots from their rootball? Thanks!
Coneflowers
They do come up a little later than the others.
They do self seed(so you may see some babies), but also come up from the parent plant
Hi Vegjen. The White Swan coneflowers have just started to put out blooms here (I have two plants and they have one bloom each) They seem to take a lot longer to get going than the pink or purple coneflowers and I am considerably further south (zone 9a). The others are at full height and in full bloom here.
