Have you sprayed anything near the plant before the spots showed up? It looks like it got burned from something like drops of an oil based insecticide, or a bit of overspray from an herbicide like Roundup, or maybe even fertilizer.

I agree, it looks sunburned to me too.

No round up in area,no insect sprays, only used small amount of osmocote in planting.Checked root system, small, but okay. Also what caused them to seed out so early.Thanks.

It could just be plain sunburn--within the first weeks of planting them did you notice any light spots on the leaves or anything like that? Sunburn damage tends to become more obvious well after the damage has been done as the burned parts of the leaves die and turn brown, but typically in the early stages you'll see some bleached-out patches on the leaves. If you brought the plants home and planted them in a much sunnier location than where they'd been at the nursery that can cause problems like that. Even if a plant can eventually handle the amount of sun you gave them, you need to work them up to it gradually or else they can burn.

By "seeding out", do you mean that the flowers disappeared more quickly than you'd hoped? That could just be stress from transplanting--plants will work on their roots first and will often drop their flowers and stop blooming for a while until they get their roots established again.

Thank you.Seeding out with seed pods.

Seed pods forming is just part of the natural process, probably when you bought the plants this year they'd already been blooming for a while and were about ready to make seeds. With many plants if you deadhead them before the seeds form you can get them to bloom again, so you might try that if you've got any that are still blooming--cut off the spent flowers before they have a chance to make seeds.

I will chime in from the deep southern TX. ........These vinca grow crazy here, BUT..............mine get partial sun. I.E...... early morning to noon or filtered after that. keep soil moist, but not soggy. Leave them be, don't get all finicky over them all the time. A bit of drought seems to make them even better here. They will droop horribly though if under watered
. Vinca are actually crazy.. Well to me anyway. BUT they will tell ya when they need a drink.. this is when u need to learn critcal wilting points from simple ones. Those brown spots on that rather young plant spell disaster to me, simply because.............
Down here in clay-like , partial /sun shade............
