Speaking of swallows, here's a photo of our first baby peeking out of the house.
Daily Pics Vol. 401
HA! OH it's awfully cute!
Congrats Teddy and Duc.

kids...they never do what you want! lol
Pelle, that baby dee is adorable!! Such a sweet photo.
Oh that is adorable duc! I love Swallows!
My Chickadees are fledging today and I was out there forever until my batteries died. I got 1 fledging on video but here is a pic shortly before that. I just looked out there and there are still some in the nest box.
Such a great time of the year!
Pelletory, how long do they stay in the nest or began to fledge. I spotted a family at one of my local birding spots and I hope to see them fledge. I plan to go back this weekend.
Thanks...Al
WOW....great bunting shot Rose!! Neat with the eagle too!
Hi Met, I hear 13 - 17 days for Carolina Chickadees. They usually have 6 chicks and they take up to a few days for all of them to fledge.
Beautiful Bunting Rose!!!
Had to run to OKC and pick up my son at the airport and when returning home saw a pair of Killdeer with 3 chicks down by the ponds. I ran in the house, grabbed my camera and headed out before they disappeared. I thought the chicks were small enough I could walk right up to them-- wrong. They can run like the wind. I couldn't get within 20-25 yards of them.
I'm so far behind and couldn't possibly comment individually. But I'm soooooo enjoying this thread! Rose, what terrific behavioral shot of the bird of prey and its "wannabe". lol. Red, your Mama mockingbird reminds me of the incident the other day when my dog took a walk around my neighborhood. He stopped and sniffed at a shrub, and a Mockingbird didn't like it, so it practically dive bomb the dog-- or nearly. It was interesting to watch the tiny little bird try to attack a big dog. Got to give it credit for being courageous. I knew then the bird nest must be within the shrub, so I quickly moved my dog away from the area.
Margaret, the Black Swans are so beautiful. Like many others, I too love that Kookaboora.
Time to begin a new thread! You all have so many gorgeous photos!
Please join us over here to continue the fun!
