RU invitation
Awe, im sorry Yank, we're going to miss you!
I could use a passenger for the ride!!!
Allison are you staying up there for the weekend?
Drat, Memory. I was hopeful when I saw Allison's post, but I can understand that you need the time to take care of business! We WILL miss you!
no just the day.. was hoping Kassia wanted a ride.. but still didn't hear back from her.. on FB or text
:(
I would go with you, Allison, or you could ride with me, but I'm going to Harmon Hill Farm first and leaving here at 6 a.m. Don't know if you'd like to tag along. It would be fun. My friend Karen isn't coming after all. She does not do well in the heat, and it's supposed to be a hot one this Sat. Don't know what it'll be like up there, but here will be hot and humid. I would much rather have hot and humid over cold, icy and nasty anytime. I adore summer over winter.
Karen
thanks.. would be tough to be up there at 6.. and might be a change of plans anyway
woo hoo.. Kassia & Diamond are coming up!!!.. going to meet us there!!!
I'm coming too. My car is salvageable and it won't be done until next week - so I will be there on Saturday with Allison.
yeah!!!!
Good news!
Guess who else is coming????
I'll be taking a mini vaca with my sil and the kids, so staying up there Fri-Sun.....WOO HOO
Now I have to check to see what I have to bring...
Yippee!
great Jen... you want me to bring your potentilla?... or hang on to it until you get home?
Oh, goody, Memory and Jen, and I can't wait to see you two and Kassia and Diamond (that's her dog, right?), as well.
Karen
Allison I can maybe stop by your place on the way home....we'll play it by ear...but don't bring it all the way to NH
that will work Jen
Have fun tomorrow, lots of pics please.
We'll do that, Lucy! It looks like we'll have 23 total. That will be lots of fun!
A couple of last minute thoughts:
Hank will put up balloons at the Sandy Pond Rd. sign on rte. 32, and at the point where Sandy Pond Rd. turns into Taylor Hill Rd (he made a homemade street sign there since the Taylor Hill Rd. sign was stolen), and then you will see balloons on our mailbox.
We will leave our driveway open for parking. When you pull in, please pull up as close as you can to the car in front of you. You can also pull off the road in front of our house. There are not many cars that come by, and there is shade if anyone needs to know that for dogs left in cars.
Because we will have all the gates open and it is not safe to let dogs roam on our property with hundreds of wild acres surrounding us with coyotes, etc. (and because they are not welcome in my flower gardens! LOL), we would request that dogs be kept on leash or in laps. We are boarding our dogs for the day, as we don't want to worry about their getting out or being a distraction from the relaxing purpose of the event. The woods around us are filled with wild animal scents, and we have had several pets on our road lost in the woods from following the scent of the turkeys, deer, bears, coyotes, etc..
When you arrive, you will see a sign for dropping plants for the plant swap close to the driveway and road for everyone's convenience. We will gather behind the house where you can set up chairs and drop your raffle gift on the table set up near where you enter the garden area. We will eventually set up the food on our back screened dining porch (accessed via the back patio), but I would suggest keeping any cold foods in your coolers in the car until we are ready for lunch. There is not a lot of room for coolers on the back porch.
Please remember to bring serving utensils for your dishes. I have a few, but not enough for the number coming. Name tags will be available on the armature of the outdoor fireplace and BBQ pit. Drinks will be set up in that area as well. Come prepared to relax and enjoy a day together!! The weather forecast is calling for temps in the low 80s and sunshine. Sounds good to me!! So, Come on, y'all! LOL
Can't wait....sounds like great weather, & better company! Sorry I won't get to see the girls :>(.....they could have stayed in my lap! Please, everyone, have a safe & happy trip to the RU....will see you all tomorrow!

Wish you were coming too Deb, going to miss you and Jo. :(
For sure!! We will miss you both a lot!!
Marilyn, the girls might make a late- afternoon appearance. We'll see how things go! You are sweet to offer your lap. :).
yes JoAnn.. going to miss you making me giggle!!
Will miss Jo & Debi....probably not going to see either in Pittsford this summer unless my brother's doc gives him the OK to travel.....
Dang Robyn, hope he gets better!
You're right Karen, I confused the date-- last week was my 'conflicting' event, but it turned out that this week had a huge glitch and we couldn't have come anyway. J had a routine procedure that got a little complicated. He's fine now, but extra exertion is out for a few more days. We're not even going to CT until at least tomorrow.
So have a great time, everyone, and take lots of pictures for the rest of us!
Pam
The RU looks like it's great fun, with the added bonus of nice plants. Wish I could come.
Pam and Rosemary - I hope you can make the next one....we had a great time today. I'll post some photos once I have a chance to download them. Thanks for coming everyone, and thanks for the surprise - and I do mean surprise! - birthday party. Hank was as surprised as I was.....all we were focusing on was today's event and that really knocked us off our feet! Thank you all so much! More later!
Louise
Glad a I got the chance to be there and see everyone again and meet some of you for the first time. Nice to put faces to names. Hope I can meet more of you in the future, and sorry you all couldn't make it. I will be posting my pics on Louise's new thread shortly.
Karen
