Wow helena, lots of pretty blooms, they are really taking off for you now.
I still have a lot of morning glories in cups that I need to find spots for. Today
I planted 5, star of india, candystripe, 2 from becky, 1 from Jackie called aka rosita. I
have about 14 more to plant, and I'm still looking for a good spot for the pandy since
it's a perennial.

Thank you Jackie, Zinniared, and Debra. I still have to transplant into pots, and I'm going to start putting some in ground too. Debra I lost the label to that one when I was transplanting into a bigger pot. It bloomed again today!

Re:

Quote from nifty413 :
Scarlett O'Hara which supposedly came from a solid red parent (i.e. no white throat)

I agree with becky that what you have is I. purpurea
Crimson Rambler

I am not aware of SOH producing Heart-Shaped leaves, but anything is possible

The photos in the PlantFiles with Heart-Shaped leaves are in fact Crimson Rambler and NOT Scarlett O’Hara. It is really amazing to me how so many folks can confuse these two Morning Glories. Even on eBay most do not have a clue what they are selling. Not only this, they use the old ancient photos of Scarlett O’Hara from way too many years ago and these sellers surely must know that what they are selling is the not the real thing [Even Parks]

In the PlantFiles these photos are Ipomoea purpurea Crimson Rambler

Beautiful blooms Helena. So glad you're sharing with us. :-)
Linda. aka Rosita is Youjiro Yaguruma aka Rosita. I keep the Rosita part of the name as many of us still identify with that name. Purchased my sds as Rosita. Its not a large bloom, about 3 inches or so, but it packs a wallop of color.

Waiting on my Blushing Bride to bloom. it's a beauty.
The Tie Dyes are lovely.

Thanks Jackie. Here's the 2nd Flying Saucer bloom from the same vine, it just didn't want to open fully when I was taking the pictures of the other ones! I'm quite tired after planting quite a few mg's into the ground, I won't have to water them as much, I hope.

Dany - Beautiful bloom! Congrats on winning the Japanese auction! $13 is a great price!!! I hope you got some really unusual ones in the batch! Good luck sowing and growing them!

Congrats Dany on having the winning bid. Looking forward to all your blooms.

Becky & Emma, thanks for the info on Scarlett O'Hara vs. Crimson Rambler.

"Monet No Fuji" (seller's name for it) showing once again its instability.

Hatsu Arashi — don't know if it's speckled and streaked due to the storms last night or from open-pollination genetics.

Thanks Becky, I'm happy with my blooms this year. They are even more special since a lot of them are from you and A.! Also growing a lot of my older seeds.

Beautiful bloom Dany, glad you won the bid!

Beautiful blooms Nick.

Here's a few bloom from today. This is Tsukiyono, from last years seed from my garden.

Helena - Do you have a label on this one? Who is it from? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8586153

If your Blue Speckles is from me, then it is once again proving that the Blue Speckles I had last year is producing unstable genes. Still a beautiful bloom, but I was hoping for the almost blue blooms with a ton of speckles or diluted speckles. I am trying to grow out the F3 Blue Speckles with the variegated leaves. It's a hard one to get to germinate for some reason. One of the few that hasn't germinated yet. Kai no Kusumi still hasn't germinated yet either.

In the raised container that I am growing Sidare in, I recently noticed a new sprout. I think it has been over 6 weeks since it was first planted. Some seeds, for whatever reasons, are not germinating promptly like they usually do. If any of you are sowing seeds and they aren't sprouting... have patience. You might suddenly see a sprout long after you figured it was a dud or rotted.

Nick - Your Hatsu Arashi is looking like a cross. Maybe a cross with Keiryu or Sazanami #2. Beautiful whatever it is !!!! "Monet No Fuji" ???? So the name keeps changing? LOL!

Nice blooms Nick and Helena.

To our new thread

Gautier, MS

Thanks Becky and Jackie. that bloom is from Tsukiyono that has been making darker blooms. I collected seeds from my vines and I did try some crossing and hand pollinating.

The blue Spleckled is from Antoinette but I do have one or two vines from your seed. Some of my vines of speckled blooms are not opening fully yet.

Missed this bloom of my MS pandy untill my 2nd walk around.

Helena, Beautiful pandy bloom. Hope your vine grows huge and makes tons of blooms for you, so pretty. How long for it to bloom, 1 yr or 2?

szarvas, Hungary

Nick, shape and color of the leaves of Hatsu Arashi are very characteristic , this cultivar has a variegated foliage?
What about the size of the bloom ?
