True Fuji no Monet
Morning Glories 2011 #03
Beautiful! My 'Monets' are about a week away from blooming – can't wait! ^_^
Jackie - Your true True Fuji no Monet is stunning! Really!!!! And the Fuji no Monet Not is too! I remember Beth grew some seeds she purchases of FNM and they were solid purple. She questioned about that and sent many seeds from the F1 to grow out to see if they would produce the genes. None unfortunately did however. :-(

Here's Beth's (ByndeweedBeth) grow-out thread for Fuji no Monet - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/753172/ - the process of discovery was fascinating
Thanx Becky, I love the Monet and the Monet not too. It was also a beautiful color
My sds were purchased from Karen, Gardner 2005 and I'm so happy with the sds I got from her
Thanx for the link Karen, hope to get to read it all today some time.
What a gorgeous blue Nick.
Thank you, Nick - I'm always curious to see what the offspring of the seeds I grow do. My guess is that yours came from a seedling I grew with a thin, spidery dark blue star on a light blue background - interesting to see that the star faded to solid in your offspring. The parent seeds came from Gardener2005, labeled I. youjiro "Blue Star" (descriptive name in double quotes).
If not, then it would have had a speckled parent, TenTen or Fuji no Shibori.
Patootie, those Monets & MonetNOTs are always intriguing - lovely.
Thanks Karen
Nice bloom A
Helena, all of your flowers look great! I also like the one you mentioned you liked above.
edited to include: P.S here, just wanted to mention I got a reverse tube on that Kanako NOT yesterday.. I'll upload sometime tonight if I get a chance and post it here.

Great blooms Helena. Love your diluted
Thanks Antoinette, that's one of your special crosses Hanna hubuki x Choco Rose.
Thanks Jackie too. I have 2 of your vines growing and getting ready to bloom soon!
Patootie...Thanks for starting this thread again. sooner or later there will be a fugi no monet that DOES come true from seed, because of the threads following the grow outs.
One of these years, even I will have some. I never bought any of the original offering because I just had my doubts. When it does come true, it will be a jewel, and NOT because of the efforts of the original seller. Put me on the list and keep up the good work here. You are a jewel. You always remember the birthdays. Bless You. Frank
Nick - Lovely bloom!
Antoinette - Interesting Kanako bloom you got. I wonder if striations will become more prominent? Surprising that you got a reverse tube on another bloom! I am curious to see what future blooms will produce. :-)
Helena - What can I say? Amazing!!! I love that 2nd one, too! I had a feeling it was one of Antoinette's crosses before I read later posts of you confirming it. Antoinette creates some really interesting and beautiful blooming crosses. She crosses blooms that I wouldn't even think of crossing with each other with some very nice results! :-) I love getting her crosses!!!
Not many MGs blooming outdoors, as most of my new vines are being grown indoors right now. I did sow 24 seeds yesterday. About half were MGs, but the rest were veggies and hummer plants!
It seems that every single bloom on my Alamo vine is making seeds. I think those flowers are high in nectar. Probably moths or bees pollinating them. Here are the seed pods forming. They look like fruit ripening! LOL!

Thank you Frank, I try :-) I will put you on the list for Fuji no Monet.
Just no guarantees at this point.
Becky, lovely Sidare. The Fuji Kawata is a beauty too.

Wonderful blooms Helena.
Vibrant Sidare, Becky!
Helena, I really like the pattern & colors on DFNM x Keiryu, and that Pink Porcelain is quite intriguing!
Thank you Jackie, Helena, and Nick!
Helena - I love your DFNM x Keiryu!! Beautiful!
Nick - Your Scarlett O'Hara looks like it might be a I. purpurea, instead of an I. nil. What do the leaves look like?
The purple bloom with the pink star is pretty! :-)
Becky, the foliage is heart-shaped like I. purpurea. So, I. nils never produce cordate leaves? I have what are supposed to be 'Fuji no Ao' & 'Fuji no Sora' producing, albeit much smaller, elongated heart-shaped leaves. Ack!
Nick - Some I. nils do indeed produce heart-shaped leaves. But not many of them. The SOH apparently does according to PlantFiles, but it sure resembles an I. purpurea in some of those photos.

I've grown Fuji no Sora and it did not have heart-shaped leaves. I can't find a photo of mine at the moment. Maybe someone else here has a photo of their FNS vine?
Nick, love your bloom that came out of sds from Blue, very pretty bloom.
