Has anyone ever saved the seeds from broccoli plants? Where are the seeds? How long did it take from the time the little yellow flowers bloomed until the seeds were ready to be harvested? What happens if you plant seeds from hybrid broccoli? Do you still get broccoli?
saving broccoli seeds
Yes, you get broccoli, just maybe a little different or not as vigorous as the original hybrid. It takes 4 -6 weeks from bloom to seed harvest. The seeds will be be in slim pods like most other brassicas. They need to dry on the plant for viable seed. This is a collard, but the seed pods are similar.
