Last week my husband had an orange-fleshed Honeydew that he loved, so I planted a few of the seeds using this Cheapo idea from the Citrus Guy:

It worked like a charm! But now what do I do? I have NEVER successfully transplanted seedlings that I have grown indoors and I really want these guys to make it. Usually what I plant out keels right over. I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks,

Now what? Seedlings
"Harden them off"---
Take them outside for a couple of hours in the shade
Gradually expose them to more light and wind for a few days
Then transplant them.
Vort, thank you very much. I will do that.

Mindy - if the Honeydew was a hybrid, the ones you grow will not be the same as the one you ate.
Having said that: The absolute best tasting melons I ever ate were from volunteer seeds that grew amongst my sweet potatoes a couple of years ago. I wish I had saved some of those seeds!
Good luck with your experiment and let us know how it turned out.
Oh that's right, I didn't think about that! Thanks for calling it an "experiment" rather than "stupidity". LOL Very diplomatic. I'll keep you all posted. :-)
