half Persian shield dying

Has anyone had only half of a Persian Shield plant die. The one half has good foliage on it but the other half starting wilting and is now dead I think. I cannot figure out what happened. H-E-L-P!!!!! I am in zone 9 in Florida where it gets mainly afternoon sun.

I posted a photo of my persian shield. Since I could not find my thread this morning to post a picture, (strange eh) I posted it again under my other user name - which is "max9415" re: half dead Persian Shield. This will show a good picture of my half dead plant. Thanks!
