I've revived some Egyptian Papyrus that almost didn't survive where they were planted before because of lack of water. I'm not consistent with watering to keep them alive so I'd like to plant them into the soil where I would have prepared the ground to hold water from sprinklers or the summer rains to sustain them. How deep would I have to go? Would I use a plastic liner and put dirt on it? Or any other method short of creating a pond.
How to plant Egyptian Papyrus in regular soil?
I grow mine in a pot, but what about using one of the polymers (eg, Soil Moist. etc) to keep moisture around the roots?
Also, try partially shaded and mulch, too.
Good luck!
