grass popping up in flower beds

Is there a product I can spray in my flower beds to kill the grass but not the plants? Someone told me of such a product before but I can't recall the name.

Ortho Grass B Gone is one that's fairly readily available.

i've got that too. and hadn't had it before in this one bed. suspecting maybe brought over from the neighbor's when i got some older manure from his cow's stable. it had hay mixed in, but we were scooping all over that area. it's that kind of grass that grows taller with little star-like seed buds--not sure of the correct name. but they're not easy to just pull up. you have to dig them out. i've heard that garlic doesn't like to have grass or other intruders ;-

I tried grass b gone and it was a bust. Used it straight out of the bottle and it did nothing at all. I guess it's roundup next time.

How long did you wait before deciding it didn't work? It is rather slow acting and it's usually a couple weeks before you'll see the grass start to look like it's dying.
