I would like to plant bellpeppers and banana pepppers in my garden I have a fence system up for them to grow on . it was used in the past for peas it is in a partially shaded part of my garden it gets about 5 to 6 hours of sun a day is this enough sun for peppers?
peppers in shade?
It might be. The only way to be sure is to try. If it's really 5-6 hours of good sun, I think they'll be fine.
I am pretty sure it is around 5 to 6 hours the reason I dont grow peas there is that they would get burned up by the sun about mid summer.
They do need 6 or more hours of sun. Peppers don't need anything to grow on. They've got sturdy stalks.
I'm trying mine in containers this year.
Have fun with your peppers.
