I have a coral bark maple I have had for at leaste 12 years and don't know how old it was when I purchased it. Some of the limbs have started to turn black and seem to be dying. I love this tree and it is my only shade for some rhodies I have. Can anyone help me with what the problem may be. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place but I could not find where I should do it. Please help me save my tree.

It sounds like it could be Pseudomonas tip blight. Check out this article and see if it sounds right: http://japanesemaplediseases.blogspot.com/ If not, a picture could be helpful.
