I have a small screened porch facing west, but shaded by large trees. It gets 3-4 hours of sun a day. I live on the Treasure Coast of Fl. What flowering plant(s) can I put in pots for my porch?
What will grow
Shade plant selection from Logee's

And here is some info from Floridata

May I suggest any of the new varieties of coleus. Then pick periwinkle or impatients in a color that is in the coleus leaf, or complements the coleus. Add a dab of Ornamental Sweet Potato and with water your planter will be terrific.

Thank you all - I'll give everything a chance. Now, what about this -growing on my property is a small tree, about 6 feet with long narrow leaves, producing small bell shaped peach colored blooms on the end of the branches and so far 2 small, still green fruit, that have a blockish shape. No one has been able to give me a name for this tree yet
Gloria, can you take a picture of the tree in question? You can post it here as a reply to this message.
Gloria, I go thru Fort Pierce all the time. When I head back to Okeechobee around Sept 3rd or so I'd be happy to come by and check it out. D-mail me if you are interested.
