We live in Central FL and planted several Zinnia plants in 2 places in the yard. In just 2 weeks an insect has eaten all the leaves, leaving a lacy look. I don't usually spray insecticide on my plants, but should I do this for these plants?
Thank you.
Insects eating Zinnia leaves
It sounds like caterpillars or snails. If it is caterpillars I used depel dust. For snails I use snail and slug bait. However both are chemicals, but just A tiny bit works. Since that is more than likely your culprit you can "google" organic control for these pests and I am sure you will find a wealth of information.
Happy Gardening !
Thank you for the suggestion. I got some info earlier that suggested using GetaBug, so I put that on the flowers. It seems to have taken care of the problem for now.
