Hi! I pinched off the leaves with black spots. They don't seem to have come back. The plants seem to be doing okay. We've had such a long, cold, wet spring that nothing is doing particularly well.

But they smell good. :-)

My basil has been in a container for a month now and is about 14-16 inches tall. The bottom leaves look like this. We've also had a cold, wet spring. I've left the leaves alone so far, but I will pinch off too and see what happens.
