TR Hovey papaya

I was just given a beautiful TR Hovey papaya plant. My initial research shows it is a dwarf variety and can be grown in a pot. I live in zone 9B in SW Florida and am wondering whether to keep it potted or plant it in the ground. I'm not sure how much cold tolerance it has; we occasionally have freezes here in winter.

I'd love some tips on growing this! Thanks, Susan
