Can you post a picture of it? It may have to do with the way you water it, others will pop in with their advice also.....

A watering problem would be my first guess too--overwatering & underwatering can both cause leaves to yellow & fall off. Gardenias can be a bit fussy about water in my experience--they definitely don't like to dry out too much, but you can still overwater them. Try sticking your finger down a couple inches into the pot and see how it feels--if it's really dry then you're probably not watering enough, but if it's sopping wet you may be watering too much. Also, does the pot have drainage holes? If not that makes it really easy to overwater so you ought to either make some holes in the bottom or put it in a different pot.

the gardenia has drainage holes and the soil down a couple of inches is moist

How long has it been since you last watered? If it's been a while and it's still feeling really moist then you may be watering too much.

its been 2 days i water every other day

There are a lot of variables that go into determining watering frequency, but every other day definitely could be too much. I'd try backing off on the watering and see if that helps. Do that finger test every couple days, and when the soil down an inch or two is starting to dry out then it's time to water.
