Amdro

Hanceville, AL(Zone 7a)

We used Amdro on our garden spot and then found out it was not supposed to be used for foodcrops. How long do we have to wait before we can use the garden? I am not a beginning gardener, just a stupid old lady. Luciee

I finally got hold of the people who make Amdro and was told that all I have to do is scoop it up and carry it out of the garden. I intend to wait a week so the ants will die. It can't be used close to food, but around the perimeter of the garden. Luciee

That stuff sounds bad luciee, I wouldn't plant anything there for at least a year.

When I find ants in my garden, I sprinkle cornmeal on the ant bed.
Sometimes is works, sometimes they just move. I keep sprinkling until they leave the garden.
Hope this helps.

Try orange oil cleaners that have the major part of the solution is made up of orange oil spray the ant mound very well it will dry them out and kill the ants .

Thanks, Sarge. I have never heard of that trick, but will try it. Nia, I am going to try the corn meal too. flowers-delight, I am going to have to try and see what happens. The man I talked to said it was an EPA thing. If I don't die, I will let everybody know what happens this fall. Thanks everyone!! Luciee (;^)
