I noticed that my leggy zinnias and petunias have hairy stems like tomatoes. Can you plant them deep to compensate for their legginess like tomatoes? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Edited to write that the distance from the soil to the cotyledons are the parts that are leggy. I know petunias get leggy when the true leaves appear. Thanx in advance!

Leggy zinnias and petunias
Try pinching the first inch or so off. The plant will then send two shoots out of there and help make the plant bushy.
Ella
Thank you!
