"I am very aware that sometimes people dedicate way too much space to eating," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "People don't live that way anymore. We all seem to run out the door with a coffee cup in our hand."

She must not be Italian or have a big family

Thomaston, CT

True....I the kitchen is the heart of the home.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That's 1 of the major things I don't like about this house, kitchen is def NOT big enough when having family or friends over or even doing major cooking if I have to bring food somewhere.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Maybe she designs kitchens in manhattan for singles. I think big bedrooms can be made smaller.

Called Dacor. The cooktop top wee rubber feet for the grates melted....hmmmmm....those folks KNEW I'd be sending flames through those grates right? That stainless cooktop base has a tendency to get hot when 50 million BTUs are coming to visit under a big pot of soup. So, I telephoned the "just call us with a problem we are here for you" loyal customer" line......... $ 7.50 for a set of 4 weeeeeee rubber feet. "Oh, you are under warranty? ...not sure about warranty items...that is another number and they are closed on Saturdays."

Naturally.

so my friend is planning her daughter's b-day party for this Sunday. they have all been sick, even her 2 month old ended up in the hospital with border line pneumonia. She was complaining on fb how sick she feels today with a sore throat etc...I said maybe you should reschedule the party "oh then it would have to wait till the end of the month" ummmmmm so what's wrong with that...I don't think I'll be bringing my kids to that sick house and what happens if someone who goes is sick? then everyone is going to get sick again? you really want your 2 month old back in the hospital
What the heck is wrong with people???? Her daughter is 3 she'll get over the fact that she's not having a party this week UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Strange.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I agree with you, Jen. as long as she gets a party I doubt the 3 yr old will care when it is.

What do you do when you see someone littering????

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Ask them if they do that at home, which they probably do.
I hate that, especially when it comes out a car window...grrr!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, that is is sickening.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

waiting to see if my hubby ends up on youtube...man, the story he told me about today....LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

He had people cheering him

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I have picked up the litter and returned it to the person saying 'excuse me, you dropped this.' Have not done it as much as I could have --just a wild hair a time or two.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I remember that one well.

She was being "creative" and "weather conscious" by dressing in layers.

Love the little-girl curls.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Both girls have all natural curls, the more humid it is the tighter they curl! LOL

an online poll asks...
Have you visited a Nordstrom store in the last week?
yes
no
or not sure????? you don't know if you were at Nordstroms????

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe not sure it was in the last week?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

honestly????
....my friend is currently on protein shakes as the 1st phase to working back up to real food, next phase is baby food...I mention that the plums are really good and lots more baby food choices than there used to be...she says she can't have anything with high sugar content
what's she drinking tonight?
a protein shake with chocolate and peanut butter!!!!!!!!!!????????

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

And that is the major problem....no clue how to eat. I tell my patients...orange juice is not your friend with regard to caloric intake - too much sugar...."but it is fruit! It is healthy! It is natural!

Pay attention to how much bread you are eating..count your carbs....." but it is WHOLE wheat!"

Use the paper plate I gave you as a portion guideline (I used a magic marker to divide the paper plate into pie shaped portion sizes representing the protein component, the salad or veggie, , the dessert ....
" but it fell apart after I WASHED it a few times!!!"

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I like the last one

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

ROTFL

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

lol!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Gotta love 'em.

Maybe I can make some money - design a 'real' dish with the pie wedges to be used as a guideline. Print inside the wedges "MEAT/Protein" "SALAD/Veggie" "Dessert" think anybody would buy it? Ah probably it's been done.
